There’s a myth about social media.

It’s often been touted that social media is an inexpensive way to market your business. And for many years, it was. But, as many social media platforms are changing their algorithms to drive people into purchasing ads, it’s become even harder for smaller businesses to grow their social media accounts organically, while getting their message out in a way that increases brand awareness.

 

Hi! I’m Madia Brown, founder of Washington, D.C.-based full-service creative marketing studio, TomahWares (soon-to-be Brandire). I help our clients convert the right audiences into the fiercest brand loyalists. As a storyteller and marketer, I've worked with nearly 100 businesses and organizations across the globe. I have spent the last 15 years helping our clients tell stories through various mediums such as digital, print, graphic, social, photography, as well as video and audio with a particular emphasis on connecting real stories of real people to get real results.

When working with our small business clients, I often find that many do not have the budget to pay for traditional advertising to promote their businesses. Therefore, they rely heavily on using social media to help get the word out.

But social media platforms have made it more difficult for businesses owners and entrepreneurs to create brand awareness.

That’s why I created Catapult.

Catapult (beta) is a FREE, invite-only social media engagement group for overachieving business owners, consultants, coaches, authors, subject matter experts, who are looking to grow their social media through effective engagement.

While looking for a solution to help my clients, I discovered that successful brands and influencers were using social media engagement groups to amass a huge following and massive engagement. I also discovered that small businesses weren’t taking advantage of these groups to grow their brands.

Engagement groups work, but they are often hard to find. The ones that aren’t usually have a criteria required for joining (ie. high likes, high followers, etc.)

That’s when the lightbulb came on. I decided to create an engagement group specifically geared towards small business owners and entrepreneurs looking to use their social media to build brand awareness through higher engagement.

Users of Catapult band together for the purpose of promoting each other’s content on four (4) social media channels: Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter.

We don’t require high likes or followers to join. We only ask that you follow three (3) simple rules.
